Job Title: Business Systems Analyst
Location: Failsworth (onsite with some travel - expensed)
Salary: £35,000 - £45,000
Job Purpose Summary:
Leading configuration and change for the IT business and supporting applications used in all Group companies. This includes applications such as ERP, CRM, internal management systems, and other industry-specific and line of business applications.
Responsible for implementing improvements and other changes to applications which manage and control operational activities of all the companies and divisions within the Group.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
1. Lead in the configuration of applications to meet the needs of the business and end-users
2. Work with end users in the businesses to develop requirements for change
3. Digitise and improve business processes utilizing existing IT systems
4. Develop and implement requirements for new applications to meet changing business requirements
5. Create and maintain application documentation
6. Monitor the applications, document and analyse issues, and publish maintenance schedules
7. Implement application updates to include upgrades, patches, and new releases
8. Assist in root cause analysis of application issues and creation of corrective action plans
9. Support escalations for applications from the Service Desk
10. Ensure compliance with the IT Service Management System (ITSMS) and any local procedures within our Group of businesses
11. Work with the Service Desk to maintain and manage a knowledge database of issues and their resolution or workarounds, including authoring of technical and end user documentation
12. Ensure backup and disaster recovery procedures for applications are in place and tested regularly
13. Liaise with 3rd party vendors, resellers and support teams as required to develop relationships, manage change and resolve issues for IT applications
Technical Skills
1. Experience in the configuration of business applications with built-in configuration tools
2. Experienced with SQL server including stored procedures, triggers, views, functions, indexes, table creation and maintenance
3. Experience of integration and data transformation tools
4. Proficient in one or more programming languages
Key Capabilities
1. Strong technical experience in ERP, CRM, and applications used in manufacturing and distribution businesses
2. Experience with data integration, backup, and management tools
3. Experience with configuration management and automation tools
4. Systematic and analytical approach to problem solving with the ability to implement effective business solutions
5. Experience in data analysis and reporting
6. Confident creating technical documentation
7. Strong quality and service focus
8. Building strong working relationships with key stakeholders, internal IT teams, and third-party vendors
9. Aware of and up to date with new and upcoming technology
Qualifications and Experience (desirable)
1. Degree educated
2. ITIL Foundation qualified
3. 2+ years' experience configuring and maintaining IT applications including ERP and/or CRM
4. 2+ years' experience with a manufacturing or distribution company
