Set Square Recruitment are currently working with a National Contractor in Sheffield. They have an opportunity for an Assistant Planner to join an experienced Site Management team on this prestigious project in Sheffield.
As an Assistant Planner, below are some of your key daily duties you will be expected to carry out;
- Develop the short term and detailed project Programmes with the Planning Manager, including linking in Power Project or P6 when applicable to demonstrate critical path, float and logic.
- Calculate activity duration's from quantities and outputs
- Be able to demonstration and explain the Critical Paths, Free Float and Total Float
- Identify project critical success factors for the programme
- Compete Weekly Progress Dashboard from data provided by the Project teams
- Frequently report on whether project activities are on target, and identify possible early warnings that will require intervention
- Understand and deliver client reporting requirements
- Assist with the completion of the Project Management Report, including populating the planning sections
- Maintain as-built Programmes from weekly progress information including activity start and finish dates
- Develop an understanding of different Planning techniques for JCT/NEC Contracts
- Support and collaborate with other employees to ensure that works are planned and organised accordingly
- Establish effective relationships with the supply chain and ensure planning requirements are understood and being acted upon
- Evaluate success of completed work and propose improvements
- Optimise distribution of information, using the document control system
- Contribute to the planning input for the PEP documentation and client specific documents etc.
