We are looking for an Transport Operations Supervisor to supervise all transport activities to ensure that the delivery plan is completed in accordance with customers’ requirements while optimizing the company fleet and ensuring legal compliance.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Act as the focal point for all daily operational transport issues.
2. Monitor the performance of the company fleet, use Microlise to its optimum, and challenge drivers where necessary.
3. Monitor the performance of the sub-contractor fleet and raise any issues with the appropriate company.
4. Document all changes to the Delivery Plan and produce an accurate Confirmed Delivery Plan for driver pay and confirmation of sub-contractors costs.
5. Respond to customer enquiries, provide quotations, and keep customers updated on delivery progress.
6. Assist in closing out job files by obtaining Proof of Delivery (POD) and other required information, and scanning documents onto the system.
7. Authorize all company driver pay.
8. Review routes and suppliers to ensure transport is planned cost-effectively and maximize profitability.
9. Produce weekly KPIs as directed by your Line Manager.
10. Ensure clear and accurate communication with all UK warehouses regarding returns and outgoing loads for effective manufacturing planning.
11. Ensure the Fuel Management system is correctly used by all site drivers.
12. Undertake all incident investigations and refer for disciplinary action where appropriate.
13. Provide a daily Operations Sheet to the Planners confirming holidays, sickness, rest days, and vehicle availability.
14. Provide an accurate Night Loader sheet for pre-loads and monitor the performance of the night loading operation.
15. Ensure drivers work within legislative requirements, including WTD, tachos.
16. Ensure planning works in conjunction with maintenance for different vehicle types.
17. Ensure paperwork is filed accurately and promptly.
18. Manage priorities to achieve desired results and deadlines.
19. Lead by example with a self-motivated, "can do" approach to achieving requirements and targets.
20. Maintain system data and its integrity.
21. Perform any other tasks deemed reasonable by the Line Manager.

Requirements:
29. Proven experience in a similar role.
30. Strong knowledge of transport and logistics operations.
31. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
32. Proficient in using Microlise or similar fleet management systems.
33. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
34. Strong leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
35. Understanding of WTD, tachos, and other relevant legislation.
