Tax Assistant - Part or Fully Qualified, Peterborough
Job Overview:
We are seeking a part or fully qualified experienced and motivated Personal Tax Assistant to join our client who are a successful growing accountancy practice in Peterborough. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive tax advice, and ensuring compliance with tax regulations. This role requires excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Management:
- Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring all tax matters are handled efficiently and effectively.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing tailored tax advice and solutions.
Tax Compliance:
- Prepare and review personal tax returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
- Ensure timely submission of all required tax filings and payments.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in tax legislation and communicate relevant updates to clients and team members.
- Provide expert advice on a range of personal tax matters, including income tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax, and trusts.
- Advise clients on tax planning strategies to optimize their tax position and minimize liabilities.
- Work closely with other departments within the firm to provide holistic financial advice to clients.
- Identify opportunities to improve internal processes and systems for tax compliance and reporting.
- Implement best practices and ensure adherence to firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional qualification or part such as CTA, ATT, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in personal tax, with a proven track record of managing client portfolios.
- Experience in a similar role within a public accounting firm or tax consultancy is preferred.
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of personal tax legislation and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in using tax software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
