22.5 hours per week. The Complex needs team are looking to recruit enthusiastic Community support workers to join our expanding team, working with clients who experience co-existing mental health and substance misuse issues. This exciting role will be part of developments with substance misuse services, supporting strategies to increase numbers of clients in treatment.
The complex needs team work across a variety of settings, homeless hostels, clients homes and community settings. The role will involve working with a caseload of clients with complex needs, supported by registered staff, working across the Plymouth alliance co- located within Harbour Drug and alcohol services.
There will be the opportunity for ongoing specialist in house training, supervision and Continued Professional development.

Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for a caseload of clients with complex needs with support from registered staff. They will be working in a multi disciplinary team, offering psycho-social interventions, such as anxiety management, exposure work and supporting clients to access community services.
The role will require effective communication and liaison with partner agencies, attendance at MDT meetings and line management.
The post holder will also be part of the homeless drop in provision, offering support to those struggling witrh their mental health in homeless hostels via our drop in clinics.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will assist registered staff within the Complex Needsteam at harbour Drug and alcohol services, working under supervision, inproviding support in the community for people experincing mentalhealth and co-existing substance misues issues. The post holderwill work alongside the other services and staff working with people that livecomplex lives in the community, where they will manage a caseloadunder supervision from a registered member of staff. The aim is topromote recovery from addiction and improve the health and wellbeingoutcomes for individuals, linking them in with Community activities and widersupports which include improving access to activities, meaningful employment,and training.
The role will require the post holder to work across the complex livessystem, developing in consultation with service users flexible andrealistic support packages and person-centred plans within agreedguidelines and service models.
This post is seen as crucial in working alongside Registered staff todevelop and implement person centred care plans in order that theperson using the service can optimise their level offunctioning despite any barrier their complex problems may present.
Care and recovery support is delivered to clients in their homes andwithin a variety of accommodation settings and will be monitoredwith the aim to optimise service users recovery needs.
There is an expectation that staff may be required to work in other partsof the organisation/ complex lives system onrequest according to service need and as part of personal development.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* 5 GCSEs or equivalent (A-C Grades/ 9-4)
* NVQ III or equivalent in Mental Health and/or able to demonstrate the skills, knowledge and ability to work to this level.
* Commitment to further education
Experience
* Experience of team working
* 2 years experience of working with people with mental health problems.
* 1 year minimum Experience of working with people who use substances.
* Breakaway and or conflict resolution
