Learning Support Assistant - Stoke-on-Trent

Academics are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to work on a full-time basis with a pupil in a Reception class who has an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) for the new academic year. This rewarding role is based at a welcoming primary school in Stoke-on-Trent and will be reviewed on a term by term basis.
Key Responsibilities:
* Provide one-to-one support to a child with an EHCP, ensuring his individual needs are met effectively.
* Assist in implementing the strategies and interventions outlined in the child's EHCP.
* Support the child in accessing the curriculum and engaging in classroom activities.
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive learning environment, promoting the child’s social and emotional development.
* Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other professionals to monitor and report on the child’s progress.
* Adapt learning materials and resources to suit the child’s needs.
* Encourage independence and confidence in the child’s learning journey.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Learning Support Assistant, preferably within an early years or primary setting.
* A good understanding of the needs of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively as part of a team and on your own initiative.
* Relevant qualifications in childcare or education are desirable.
* Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
