The Work Shop are delighted to be recruiting for a Plastic Fabricator/Trainee for a well-established client based in a rural location on the outskirts of Romsey. Owner Car/motor bike driver is essential because of the location.
The client is offering an exciting opportunity for a Plastic Fabricator or Trainee with pay starting at £11.44 per hour, rising to £15.00 per hour when experienced, along with the opportunity to develop your skills. Solid training is provided, and this is a Temp to Permanent opportunity for the right person. Hours are 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM Monday to Thursday, with an early finish at 1:00 PM on Friday, plus a company performance bonus.
The Role of Fabricator/Trainee
The candidate will be expected to know or be able to learn and understand the following techniques:
* Working from engineering drawings to construct plastic pipe assemblies, tanks, and vessels
* Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and production work orders
* Creating and using templates and jigs
* Fabricating, assembling, forming, reshaping, reworking, and repairing plastic products
* Marking out sheets and pipes using measuring and marking instruments
* Constructing pipe spools, tanks, and vessels using various cutting, drilling, and bending tools including power saws, routers, planes, sanders, knives, scrapers, and bending devices
* Using plastic welding equipment to manufacture and construct fabricated items
* Understanding plastics and bonding techniques using specialist precision tools and equipment
* Cutting and preparing pipes, fittings, and sheets for welding
* Assembling plastic components using various welding and jointing techniques
* Carrying out weld testing and inspection
* Assisting other fabricators when required
* Keeping the work area clean and tidy at all times
About You - Plastic Fabricator/Trainee
A good awareness of using hand tools and hand power tools and the ability to learn to operate workshop tools and equipment is essential. The candidate must learn to interpret engineering drawings and accurately measure and mark out components for fabrication.
Some experience in the following would be advantageous:
* Fabrication
* Hand and power tools
* Precision measuring tools
* Pillar drills, grinders, and sanders
* Table, pipe, and wall saws
* Pipe benders and forming tools
* Hot air and propane gas torches
* Fork truck and overhead crane
Skills
* Able to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions
* Good oral and written communication skills
* Manual dexterity and good eyesight are essential
* Accurate and methodical
* Mechanical aptitude
