The job itself
We are seeking to appoint a Senior Cook to work at our Mill Lane site in Beverley.
The role will lead the catering provision for meals provided to those attending Millers Day service, Town View Respite service and the residents of New House Residential service.
The is a permanent role, working 32 hours per week, Monday to Sunday on a rota basis.
We are seeking someone with experience of catering and working in a busy kitchen environment to lead our catering operations.
The ideal candidate will desirably hold a catering qualification, such as NVQ level 2 and a minimum of a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification. Opportunities to support development and further training will be available.
You should have a good knowledge of the allergen legislation and a working knowledge of the Government’s Food Standards. A knowledge of special dietary needs and nutritional requirements is preferred but you will be willing to attend the necessary courses to gain the appropriate knowledge and skills.
You will need to be a team player who can work to a high standard, whilst possessing the appropriate supervisory skills to manage a kitchen. You will also need to be approachable, enthusiastic, flexible, and committed to providing and developing the school’s meal service further.
You will be responsible for the preparation, cooking, and service of food daily.
Also you will need to be aware of: -
1. Allergens in accordance with current food safety regulations.
2. School Food Standards.
3. Health & Safety regulations.
4. Maintaining the high standard of hygiene in the kitchen.
