Teaching Personnel work in partnership with a coeducational, secondary academy located in Bognor Regis, graded ‘GOOD’ in all areas by Ofsted. The school are seeking graduates keen to pursue a career in education, to fulfil cover supervisor positions that they are currently recruiting for, to start as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity for graduates who are keen to undertake teacher training, and work in a school that will not only prepare you with the tools you need to become a successful educator, but also support you through your training whilst you gain experience in the classroom.
What is a cover supervisor?
Cover supervisors are key to the effectiveness of the school. The role involves supervising whole classes during the absence of a teacher, providing short term cover, and helping the students with their learning. Cover supervisors often get involved in the heart of the school and are familiar and trusted faces around the school. This includes tutor time as well as subject lessons and provides insight into the world of teaching.
How will I know if I am suitable for the role?
The ideal candidate for this role is a graduate seeking a career in secondary teaching, who may want to gain first-hand experience in the classroom before undertaking a teacher training course. Although core subject graduates are desirable, the school are interested in graduates of all subjects who are keen to teach. No previous school experience is necessary although can be beneficial. Relevant sport experience such as coaching is also highly desirable, as well as candidates who have experience working in a learning support capacity, or with challenging behaviour and/or vulnerable people. If you do not yet have any experience, but a degree and the willingness to learn, this could also be the ideal role for you.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
