We are looking for a subject class teacher to educate our pupils in our Estyn registered independent school. We are looking for someone who have an inspirational approach to delivering the curriculum. Branas School supports young people aged 11-18, many of our pupils may have experienced significant adverse childhood experiences and as a result present with complex needs. Our school supports young people with complex social, emotional and mental health needs and mild to moderate learning difficulties, requiring nurture and motivation from teachers who are dedicated and driven to help them release their true potential. Through personalised support, we help our young people achieve their goals and overcome previous barriers to learning and achievement. Who are we looking for:
While ideally, we are looking for a qualified Teacher, we will consider applicants who are experienced Instructors who know how to win our students over and have the ambition and desire to meet individual needs. While experience within a specialist provision would be desirable, we will consider applications from those who are currently working in a mainstream or college setting.
Training and development will be provided for the successful candidate in line with the identified needs of the school, the skills of the individual and their prospective career progression.
Key Accountabilities:
Plan and teach well-structured lessons to meet the individualised needs of students.
Manage classes effectively, using approaches which are appropriate to students’ needs to motivate them.
Manage student anxiety effectively to ensure an enjoyable and safe working environment.
Know and understand how to assess the relevant subject and curriculum areas you teach, including statutory assessment requirements.Essential Criteria:
Experience of teaching at KS3 or KS4 in a specialist or mainstream setting.
Experience of successfully teaching your subject specialism.
A dedicated work ethic to ensure the needs of all students are met.
Is passionate about making learning effective and enjoyable.
Qualified in subject specialism.
