Ember is the UK's first all-electric coach company. We launched in October 2020 and are now running on two routes – Dundee to Glasgow and Dundee to Edinburgh – with a route connecting to Aberdeen launching inAugust 2024.
We’re looking for a PSV Mechanic to join the team that works across our fleet – 38 electric coaches at the moment, and growing fast. You’ll be our third qualified mechanic hire, and will be at the heart of the team that we are building across Scotland. We are at advanced stages in developing new charging hubs in Inverness, Oban, Livingston and Fort William, with many more sites in the pipeline.
The ideal candidate will be experienced, energetic and confident with the passion to stay on top of the latest developments in the electric vehicle market. This will be a roaming role - working closely with the team in Dundee, and spending time there, but also visiting andworking at our sites right across Scotland.
This is a truly unique challenge - our coaches are used more intensively than any other electric vehicles in the world so not every problem will have a solution that can be found in a manual. Instead, your team will need to work closely with the manufacturer, go deep into understanding root causes and think creatively about how we could be avoiding the problem altogether in the future.
We’re looking for a problem-solver who will help to identify and resolve issues quickly, and will relish the challenge of joining a new team that will make our state of the art fleet the best-maintained in the country with the lowest downtime.
