About the Opportunity:
Jacobs are looking to hire an experienced and highly motivated Design Manager to join a multidisciplinary project delivery team who are working on construction projects on regulated sites near Reading. This is a fantastic opportunity to engage in high level projects with some of Jacobs’ most lucrative and exciting clients and be at the forefront of offering solutions that contribute to Jacobs’ global strategy of an integrated, connected, and sustainable world.
Successful candidates will work closely with the team’s Project Managers and Planners to assist in the development of design strategies from conception to completion, ensuring they meet budget and quality requirements, as well as being delivered on time. Candidates should have experience in the following:
1. Developing and implementing design strategies, standards, and processes;
2. Large scale innovative design projects;
3. Ensuring structural drawings and designs are produced on time and are easy to decipher;
4. Motivating and encouraging large internal and external design teams;
5. Working in a large multidisciplinary team;
6. Regularly reviewing designs to look for improvement opportunities;
7. Attending, hosting, and coordinating meetings;
8. Client facing collaboration
Here's What You'll Need:
9. Excellent leadership and organization skills;
10. Architectural degree or equivalent NVQ;
11. Experience in working in a regulated, process driven environment;
12. Experience in coordinating ‘Contractors Design Portion’ from numerous sub-contracts and ensuring conflict resolution;
13. Experience in commercial buildings;
14. RIBA chartership or similar;
15. Ability to obtain minimum SC clearance
16. UK driving license and right to work in the UK
