Role description
The role of the Agile Project Manager (EPIC Delivery Owner, EDO) is to be part of Euroclear’s growth and modernisation. You will be responsible for managing one or more diverse IT projects, for example in business change or platform modernisation and will typically be responsible for managing and supporting multiple squads and IT delivery functions. You will need to be able to engage with Senior Stakeholders, orchestrate the contribution of our global colleagues and resolve impediments to ensure project goals and requirements are met.
Responsibilities
1. Leading the development of the project proposal and plan (EPIC RoadMap) to determine timeframe, budget, resource requirements, working with Scrum teams to identify the features required to deliver the project.
2. Define the overall project governance and organisation, the deliverable scope and the associated responsibilities within the guidelines of the Euroclear Agile delivery model.
3. Oversee the technical, organizational, management and financial aspects of the project.
4. Regularly report project progress at all levels, including sponsor, senior management and/or Clients, using standard tools (. Service Now) and other mechanisms (Presentations).
5. When required, negotiate changes in project specification or scope with the project sponsor / client.
6. Leads projects for which the unusual size, timeframe or complexity requires the ability to deal with change requests.
7. Convincingly present the project and win buy-in from the sponsor/client, possibly using the support of business or technical subject matter experts.
8. You will have a good business and technical understanding, gained over several infrastructure and application development projects, and the interpersonal skills to be able to engage with technical architects and business stakeholders to support and influence decisions taken with the project sponsor/client.
9. Work with Scrum delivery teams, Scrum Master and Product Owners and other technical teams to deliver the Projects.
10. Have the ability to remove impediments from the Project (managing conflicting interests, negotiating inputs between different parties, proactively identifying issues and risks and adjusting scope if required).
11. Work with stakeholders and your immediate tribe to continuously improve (quality, productivity).
12. Capability to assist in the analysis of requirements with the project sponsor/customer and with the support of the Enterprise Architect / Application Architects in order to evaluate the project feasibility within the scope of a pre-defined strategy.
13. Ensure that delivery and deliverables (documentation) follows defined Euroclear Agile methodology, standards and guidelines.
Skillsets
14. Certification with a recognised Agile Project Management qualification would be beneficial –. Prince2 Agile or PMI ACP.
15. Proven track record of leading medium to large projects encompassing all stages of the life-cycle from requirements through design, build, testing, client acceptance and launch.
16. Experience in wholesale financial markets, ideally with some knowledge of settlement of UK bonds and/or equities.
17. Technical acumen to engage with technical engineers and architects to facilitate delivery
18. Experience working in an Agile delivery environment, working with Scrum delivery teams, Scrum Masters and Product Owners to deliver the project outcomes.
19. Experience of working on Agile, Waterfall and hybrid projects
20. Experienced in project planning tools such as MS Project, and Agile governance tools such as MS Azure DevOps and Jira.
21. Able to efficiently produce progress reports and minute risks, issues and decisions.
22. Able to operate effectively with both senior and junior colleagues in a matrix management environment.
23. Sufficient appreciation of accounting concepts to ensure the financial aspects of Project business cases are sound in both benefit and cost terms and projects are financial well managed.
