The Estates and Facilities Management Directorate are seeking to recruit a motivated Engineering Maintenance Technician (TMV and Water Safety) to undertake pre-planned and reactive maintenance works at multiple sites across Worcestershire. To ensure a high standard of work with a key focus on planned maintenance to TMV Servicing, Monthly temperature monitoring and other water hygiene tasks.
The ideal candidate must be able to work on their own initiative, to organise and manage their own workload, drive through requests to a satisfactory conclusion and recognise the need to maintain the sites operation and maintenance. They will also have the ability to carry out multi skill tasks across a variety of infrastructure systems across both mechanical and electrical systems. The position requires a flexible attitude to work, good fault and problems solving skills.
Familiar with the safe use and care of IT equipment, be able to source and share and record information in written, verbal, and digital formats. You will be given all the support you need to steer the Estates department to be an always improving team that is delivering, performing, and operating a safe and compliant environment.
A Vehicle is provided for Home to site working with a van provided for business use only and a current driving licence is essential.
Main duties of the job
You should have City & Guilds certificate Level 2/3 Award in Plumbing or equivalent.
It would be beneficial if you have previous experience in working in water hygiene, knowledge of ACOP L8, HTMs and HSG 274.
It would be beneficial if you have experience working on Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMV) or Thermostatic Mixing Taps (TMT) and guidance on servicing this equipment.
You should have knowledge of Health and Safety.
You should be capable of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
You should be able to prove solutions using own initiative.
You must be prepared to assist with the planning and development of planned engineering/building maintenance programmes to ensure compliance with key standards - legislative and performance related (as defined through a Service Level Agreement).

* A recognised apprenticeship within the electrical or mechanical installation industry.
* At least 3 years within the electrical or mechanical contracting industry after completion of apprenticeship, installing a wide range of electrical or mechanical systems i.e., conduit, trunking PVC/PVC, MIMs and cable tray. Boilers, radiators, sanitary ware.
* In addition to the above experience on fault diagnosis on complex systems is essential.
* Experience with the installation/ maintenance of electrical/fire alarms, emergency lighting systems, telephone systems and power generation equipment, Boilers, BMS systems.
* Recognised manual handling training for heavy/awkward objects.
Desirable
* Multi-skilled.
* Two years relevant experience having demonstrated high technical versatility and flexibility.
* Minimum two years experience of Computerised systems for managing maintenance systems including CAFM or BMS.
* Clean driving licence.
