Salary (Actual Salary):
1. M6 Higher rate for those with QTS - £34.40 per hour
2. UN5 Medium rate for those with relevant degree but no QTS - £24.78 per hour
3. UN1 Lower rate for those with no degree or QTS - £17.14 per hour
Hours:
Casual hours to be determined through discussions between academy and staff member
Current need for circa 1 day per week (5 hours)

About the Role:
As a one to one tutor you will contribute to raising the standards of student attainment through planning, implementing and delivering a broad, balanced and relevant curriculum in the relevant subject.
In this role you will be expected to deliver intervention programmes to students in collaboration with department staff, using your understanding to discuss under performance from students and in turn develop suitable intervention materials to improve the student performance.
There will be an expectation to liaise with department heads and teachers to provide feedback on student development, as well as support with exam specific revision sessions.
We are seeking candidates with a secure knowledge of the secondary science curriculum, with the ability to deliver knowledge and skills to small groups and on a one to one basis. This will be someone who has experience of teaching at KS4, or with recent experience as a GCSE examiner (preferably for AQA). With good knowledge one to one tutors will rapidly accelerate students' understanding that will support them in more regular lessons.

4. Hold qualified teacher status and have experience teaching at KS4
5. Have retired from mainstream Science teaching but would like to continue working with GCSE students on a one to one/small group basis
6. Are looking to return to teaching Science
7. Hold an AS/A-level Science
8. Are able to demonstrate that they can work with individual students to progress their learning in Science
9. Have experience as a Science GCSE examiner (any exam boards, but preferably for AQA); or
10. Have subject specific knowledge of Science at Key stage 4 and the GCSE exam requirements
