A manufacturer based in East Lothian are looking for a Laboratory Supervisor to be part of the Quality Team and report directly to the Laboratory Manager. This role focuses on ensuring that all analytical activities meet the highest standards of Good Laboratory Practice by working closely with lab analysts, utilizing advanced instrumentation methodologies, and adhering to regulatory requirements. On Offer: £34,000 - £38,000 Monday – Friday Hybrid working 28 days annual leave Key Responsibilities Ensuring the laboratory operates at optimal performance by implementing best practices, managing proficiency and competency programs for analysts, and maintaining instrument calibration and analytical sample standards. Overseeing compliance with regulatory analysis requirements, including managing sampling schedules, coordinating with contract laboratories, and preparing accurate data reports. Troubleshooting analytical methodologies, supporting the Operations team with issue investigations, and driving the development of new analytical methods. Contributing to the site’s Zero Quality Defect Strategy by maintaining high standards in analysis, communication, inspections, and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate for this role will possess: A strong background as an analytical chemist with in-depth knowledge of analytical processes and standards, particularly in the food and beverage industry or similar high-standard environments. Expertise in delivering laboratory best practices and methodologies while staying current with industry developments and analytical advancements. 3 to 5 years of experience in a laboratory setting, preferably within the food and beverage industry. A solid understanding of HACCP principles and Good Laboratory Practice standards, such as ISO 17025. Proficiency with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and other relevant laboratory systems.
