Job summary
Nottingham University Hospitals Trust has an exciting opportunity to recruit a Deputy Medical Director due to retirement. We are seeking a driven individual dedicated to making a difference to patient care and staff satisfaction.
The successful post holder will work to support the Medical Director to deliver high quality care by providing senior clinical leadership capability and capacity. Along with other Deputies, your portfolio will cover to deputise for the Medical Director. You will have the opportunity to hold professional portfolio responsibilities including Quality and Safety, Learning from Deaths, Medicines Management, Risk and Assurance and Clinical Effectiveness. This post is an excellent opportunity for development and of interest to any one aspiring to become a Medical Director. The Medical Director is supported by a team to include PA support.
Main duties of the job

We are looking for a proven medical leader with leadership experience at senior level position and with the determination and ambition to work at Board level to improve quality, patient experience and staff experience. Remuneration will be in accordance with seniority on the Consultant contract. The role comprises 5 PAs for the DMD post and 5 clinical PAs for a full time 10PA post with a responsibility allowance.

Training and Qualifications
Essential
5. Senior Substantive clinical leader with at least 5 years' clinical experience post CCT or equivalent
6. Full Registration with GMC without any conditions or restrictions on licence to practise
7. Evidence of participation in annual appraisal
8. Evidence of CPD
Desirable
9. Masters degree or equivalent in clinical leadership
10. Formal management qualification
11. Membership of FMLM
Experience
Essential
12. Experience of senior clinical leadership at service or Divisional level within an acute trust for at least 2 years
13. Commitment to multi-disciplinary working and evidence of leading such a team.
14. Substantial knowledge of Clinical governance
15. Experience of working with patient groups and managing complaints
16. Experience of delivering significant change programmes
17. Evidence of delivering change at Specialty or Divisional level
Desirable
18. Previous work at Board level within an acute Trust
19. Experience in mentoring or coaching clinical leaders
20. Experience of clinical leadership at regional or national level
