Job Description
•Execute menus that reflect culinary trends, customer preferences, and dietary restrictions.
•Create innovative and appealing dishes while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation.
•Train and mentor kitchen staff on cooking techniques, food safety, and proper kitchen procedures.
•Maintain a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages creativity and teamwork.
•Oversee all aspects of food preparation, ensuring consistency, quality, and timely delivery.
•Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain stock rotation to minimize waste and control costs.
•Monitor and enforce food safety and sanitation standards to ensure compliance with health regulations.
•Regularly inspect equipment and ensure proper maintenance and functionality.
•Provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations to motivate and develop team members.
•Foster a culture of excellence, professionalism, and continuous improvement within the kitchen.
•Resolve conflicts and address employee concerns in a timely and fair manner.
•Conduct market research to identify food trends, customer preferences, and competitor offerings.
•Collaborate with the management team to develop seasonal menus and daily specials.
•Control food costs by accurately forecasting needs, minimising waste, and maximising ingredient utilisation.
•Analyze financial data, including food costs, labor expenses, and sales, to identify areas for improvement and implement cost-saving measures.
•Interact with customers to address inquiries, gather feedback, and ensure customer satisfaction.
•Adapt menus and accommodate special requests or dietary restrictions to enhance client / customer experience.
•Respond promptly and professionally to client/customer complaints or concerns, striving to resolve issues effectively.
Qualifications
•NVQ qualification or equivalent
•Excellent craft skills background
•Solid understanding of kitchen operations, inventory management, and cost control.
•In-depth knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations and a commitment to maintaining high standards.
•Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team.
•Creative mindset with a passion for culinary innovation and keeping up with industry trends.
