PositionSummary
Reports to: Site MaintenanceManager
Directreports: None
Working Hours: Continentalshift pattern (4 on, 4 off) working 12 hour shifts, rotatingbetween days and nights each block which will also include workingweekends and bank holidays. This will average to 42 hours perweek.
Responsibilities
MainAccountability As a Multi-Skilled MaintenanceEngineer (internally known as Shift Technician), yourrole is to provide a safe, high-quality,cost-effective maintenance service to site assets includingpreventative, predictive and breakdown maintenance ensuringachievement of Factory Key Performance Indicators, targets andbudgets. To provide technical support to Operational teams,Technicians and Operations Management, monitoring maintenanceactivities, routines and procedures for accuracy, effectiveness andcompletion. To drive line performance to meet targets co-ordinatingtechnical & operational activities.
Roles& Responsibilities
• Provide technical expertise for Electrical andMechanical maintenance of plant equipment whilst carrying outreactive and PPM using electrical, control system and mechanicalengineering skill set.
• Keyresponsibility for reviewing production targets and priorities /balance the lines to meet them with minimalwaste.
• Act as the effectivelink between Operations & Engineering.
• Support site contractor activity through issuing Permitto Works and review of risk assessments and method statements(RAMS).
• Responsible forco-ordination of contractors and contracts including issuing ofPTW.
• Coaching and supporting theManufacturing Technician (MT) group to develop their technicalskills.
• Provide support to andinvolvement in site Project and Change Initiatives (CI’s) asappropriate.
• Undertakes tasks whichrequire data and strong diagnostics to identify and act uponunderlying root cause issues.
Qualifications
MinimumQualifications: • Good electrical and mechanicalmaintenance skills.
• Experience within a productionenvironment.
• NVQ L3 or equivalent time served Engineeringapprenticeship with proven hands onexperience.
• City & Guilds 2391holder
•Strong team player who demonstrates a continuous improvementapproach.
• Ability to manage and prioritise workloadsto support business needs.
• Computer literate (Word, excel,etc).
Preferred (but not essential)Qualifications:
•Experience within a FMCG or high-volume continuous productionenvironment.
• Experience of leadingand coaching a team.
•Working knowledge of PLC systems- Allen Bradley and/or Siemens anadvantage.
• Working knowledge ofCMMS and SCADA systems and the associated applications (furthertraining will be provided by PepsiCo).
