Job summary
The Older People's Community Mental Health Team are looking to recruit one Trainee CBT Therapist to be part of the development of the Governed Psychological Therapies service within our Team.
The successful post holder will undertake a 2 year post graduate diploma in CBT for Personality Disorder, whilst working in the service under supervision. Attendance and study time would be part of the working hours, some UK travel may be required.
The successful candidate will have either a core profession/regulation recognised by BABCP or an undergraduate degree in a relevant field to mental health and substantial experience demonstrating a breadth of experience in two or more mental health settings to meet KSA requirements.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate will provide high quality evidence-based therapy to older adults experiencing severe mental health problems. You will work in collaboration with a wider multi-disciplinary team including other Psychological Professions colleagues. You will receive high quality supervision and CPD opportunities to enable you to achieve or maintain your accreditation.
Training to achieve competencies in CBT for Personality Disorder would be an expectation and opportunity of the role, this would be fully funded, and job planned. The successful applicants will be compassionate in meeting the needs of clients, their carers and families and will at all times promote a positive image of people with mental ill health or learning disabilities.
The successful applicants will undertake:
A structured programme of learning including personal study, academic work, learning and assessment leading to a formal qualification and accreditable standard in the governed psychological therapy CBT
They will undertake clinical work independently on a day to day basis. The work will be supervised and reviewed at regular intervals, in accordance with the accrediting body. They will keep coherent records of all clinical activity in line with service protocols.

1. A core profession as recognised by BABCP AND
2. Registered with a professional regulatory body (HCPC, NMC, GMC, Social Work England) AND
3. For those with a CORE PROFESSION post qualifying experience in secondary care mental health settings is essential
4. OR An undergraduate degree in a relevant field to mental health AND
5. NON-CORE PROFESSION substantial experience demonstrating a breadth of experience in two or more mental health settings to meet KSA requirements AND
6. Knowledge of the KSA requirements for accreditation AND
7. Evidence the experience and knowledge below in order to complete a KSA portfolio
