Recruit4Staff are proud to be represent their client, an internationally renowned construction & civil engineering company in their search for a Heath & Safety Advisor to work on their newly awarded contract in the North Wales area
For the successful Health & Safety Advisor our client is offering:
1. Salary: £50,000 - £55,000 per annum (Negotiable depending on experience & skillset)
2. Days Position: Monday to Friday
3. Permanent position
4. Company car or car allowance
5. Pension with up to 8% contribution from the client
6. 25 days holiday + Bank holidays
7. Accommodation provided and allowances paid for
The Role - Health & Safety Advisor
8. Working with Project teams to ensure the highest standards of health & safety are met on Project sites
9. Carry out risk assessments and consider how risks could be reduced
10. Outline safe operational procedures which identify and consider all relevant hazards
11. Carry out regular site inspections to check policies and procedures are being properly implemented
12. Ensure working practices are safe and comply with legislation
13. Prepare health and safety strategies and develop internal policy
14. Lead in-house training with managers and employees about health and safety issues and risks
15. Keep records of inspection findings and produce reports that suggest improvements
16. Record incidents and accidents and produce statistics for managers
17. Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of all Health and Safety Executive (HSE) legislation and any developments that affect the employer's industry
18. Cooperate fully with IOSH and abide by its Charter, Byelaws and Regulations
What our client is looking for in a Health & Safety Advisor
19. NEBOSH Diploma or NVQ 5 in Occupational Safety and Health (Preferred)
20. NEBOSH General or Construction Certificate ESSENTIAL
21. Previous Tunnelling experience - ESSENTIAL
22. Previous on site experience in a Civil Engineering/Construction ESSENTIAL
23. Experience of Environmental Management in a construction environment BENEFICIAL
24. An excellent understanding of Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Risk Management, legislation and industry standards
25. Have knowledge of different environments such as working at height, confined spaces and arrangement of equipment plus knowledge of safety practices to use in conjunction with tools and plant in the workplace.
26. An understanding and application of administrative processes for Principal Contractor and Contractor as required by CDM 2015 Regulations
27. Understanding and application of administrative processes for Temporary Works
28. Understanding and application of administrative processes for New Roads and Streetworks Activities
29. Hold a current UK Driving Licence
30. Have suitable PC Skills using Microsoft office software
