Our bank contracts will give you flexibility over the days and hours you work, tell us when you're available and we'll look to give you shifts to fit. You don't need previous experience in care to join our team as a Bank Support Practitioner as we recruit on values and transferable skills and provide full training. The Role As a Bank Support Practitioner you will play a vital role within our team. You will cover shifts to ensure continued high-quality, person-centred care and support during times of annual leave, training or sickness. You'll support individuals living in their own homes in the community with disabilities and/or additional support needs. As a Support Practitioner, you will assist with all aspects of daily living including meal preparation, medication, going to appointments and activities, managing personal finances, support with moving and handling and personal care. As well as helping the people we support in their own homes, you'll also provide emotional support and assist them to maintain relationships with family and friends. The people we support enjoy being active in their communities, from arts and crafts, bingo and shows at the Beacon to watching the football and going out for a tasty bite to eat. We'll be looking to you to take an active interest in their hobbies and enable individuals to explore new ones. Many of the people we support have their own mobility cars, so it would be desirable if you hold a full UK manual driving licence with a minimum of 1 year's experience on the roads. However, this is not essential to join our team. To be part of our team, we'll need you to: Have an empathetic and caring nature. Good observation skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Confidence in using computers. Be able to work well in a team environment and on your own. Good organisational skills. Shift Patterns Our dedicated friendly team provide 24/7 support which is tailored to the needs of each individual, so depending on shift length you may be supporting more than one individual but do not worry as we factor travel into your hours. Our shifts include earlies, days, lates and sleepovers.
