Senior Accountant (Pensions and Treasury)
Location: North London (Hybrid Working)
Rate: £450 per day (Umbrella)
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Senior Accountant to join a London Local Authority finance team, supporting the Head of Pensions and Treasury. This is a pivotal role in ensuring the effective management of the authority's pension fund and treasury management functions. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the preparation of pension fund annual accounts and treasury management notes for the Council's statement of accounts.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accounting & Reporting: Assist in the preparation of the pension fund's annual accounts and contribute to the preparation of treasury management notes for the Council's statement of accounts.
2. Daily Operations: Support the day-to-day pension fund and treasury management activities, including daily cashflow management.
3. Liaison & Communication: Provide necessary instructions and information to treasury advisors and pension fund service providers, including investment and actuarial advisors.
4. Support & Advisory: Work closely with the Head of Pensions and Treasury to deliver accurate, timely, and insightful financial information.
Requirements:
1. Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (CIPFA or CCAB).
2. Experience: Extensive experience in pension fund accounting and treasury management within a public sector setting.
3. Skills: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
4. Knowledge: In-depth understanding of the regulatory framework and best practices related to pension funds and treasury management.
