Our esteemed client, a trusted partner of the UK Ministry of Defence, are seeking a proficient Mechanical Inspector to join their certification team at the Stevenage site. In this role, you will be responsible for authorising the product in compliance with our product certification procedure, thereby playing a pivotal role in ensuring product quality and safety.
What we're looking for:
1. Formal technical engineering/craft apprenticeship (TR23/TR21) or HNC qualification.
2. Proactive problem-solving skills and a strong commitment to teamwork and achieving business goals.
3. Significant experience in Mechanical Inspection.
4. Several years of experience as a skilled professional in the field.
5. Preferably IPC 610 certified/trained.
What you'll get to do as a Mechanical Inspector:
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring product certification and compliance with all associated procedures in line with the product certification procedure. This will involve conducting thorough inspections of the product for correct assembly, finish quality, physical damage and faulty finishing or painting while utilizing specialized inspection tools. Additionally, the candidate will monitor product certification operators, segregate defect items from good products, and maintain all relevant data records/defect reports and inspection/quality control documentation/history sheets. They will also conduct regular audits to maintain product certification and approval, ensure inspection times are met, and keep the highest level of workmanship standards and product quality. The candidate will be expected to maintain a safe working environment and good housekeeping policy, as well as possess a versatile skill base with the capability to apply these skills across a range of tasks. Finally, they should be willing to contribute to an environment of process improvement.
