The School and Role
This large and modern secondary school based in Smithdown, Liverpool, is seeking to appoint a Classroom Supervisor to work across KS3 & KS4. This is a full-time role starting immediately, and will be ongoing through to the next academic year. The role will require the successful candidate to manage the classroom in the Teacher’s absence. The class Teacher will provide all the materials and tools needed for the lesson ready for the Classroom Supervisor to deliver. Although not actively teaching, it is important for a Classroom Supervisor to have the skills and confidence needed to keep the class motivated and focused so they can work on the activities set and prepared for them. The role requires you to support pupils as they work through the lesson and to understand how to help them to complete tasks, where needed.
This school were marked as 'Oustanding' on their last Ofsted inspection which took place in February 2020. They are a Church of England High School for girls in Years 7 – 11, with a mixed Sixth Form, serving the Diocese of Liverpool and their aim is to develop in their pupils a love of God, an understanding of and respect for the faith and traditions of others, and a real and abiding belief in their own value and self-worth. This is a well established and high achieving school that moved to a new site in 2015 and has continued to thrive in its new, modern environment.
Requirements
The desired Classroom Supervisor will have;
- Experience of working with secondary school aged children
- A passion for the progress of secondary school pupils
- An ability to work as part of a team
- Have, or be prepared to undergo an Enhanced DBS check
