Hill Group are are looking for a dedicated Quality Inspector to join our team and ensure the highest standards are met across our projects, responsible for covering our Southern region.

Role Overview:
As a Quality Inspector, you will be responsible for monitoring the construction process including exacting standards of finish to ensure that homes meet or exceed quality and building safety standards expected by our customers. During your day to day role, you will work closely with our production, technical, buying, sales and customer services teams along with other members of the quality team (including our specialist M&E team), working independently. You will identify and assist in the resolution of issues before project completion and the quality team will inspect and sign off every new private sale home through our Ready to Move In (RTMI) process. Your pride in the Hill brand, keen eye for detail and thorough understanding of building regulations, warranty standards, industry good practice and exacting standards of finish will play a key role in maintaining the quality and reputation of the homes we build.
Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct regular site inspections to ensure that all construction work meets our group standards, building regulations, and partners expectations.
* Identify any defects, non-compliance, or quality issues and report findings to the relevant project team. Record defects and manage the subsequent clearance of these by our production teams.
* Assist the production teams in benchmarking & standard setting works and provide knowledge and guidance where required.
* Be a motivating force to raise quality standards.
* Apply exacting standards and be responsible for the inspection and final sign-off of our private sale homes through the RTMI process.
* Provide feedback on workmanship and materials used to the regional teams including the Group Head of Quality with an aim to continuously improve.
* Keep accurate and detailed inspection records, including photographic evidence where necessary using the Hill digital QA platform.
* Ensure that defects likely to compromise building safety, a future building performance, customer issue or reputational damage are identified and rectified.
* Provide recommendations for continuous improvement of construction processes and quality control.
Requirements:
* Good proven experience and technical knowledge of construction, particularly within the UK house-building industry on both housing and tall residential developments, including familiarity of standard detailing and site operations.
* Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in the construction or house-building industry will be desirable, however training can be provided to suitable candidates that have the right skills, knowledge and behaviours.
* In-depth knowledge of UK building regulations, NHBC standards, LABC Technical Manual, applicable industry guidance, construction practices and exemplar, award winning standards.
* Strong attention to detail with excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
* A need to maintain knowledge and expertise through self-learning / CPD.
* Proficient levels of knowledge, skills, experience and behaviour to carry out your role, and to seek help when you have deficiency in any of these areas.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with the production team and stakeholders.
* Proficient in using inspection tools and software for record-keeping and reporting.
* Full UK driving licence.
Desirable Qualifications:
* NVQ, HNC, or other relevant construction-related qualifications.
* CSCS card (or equivalent).
* Membership of a relevant professional body desirable.
