We are seeking a proactive and analytical FMCG Buyer to manage the procurement of fast-moving consumer goods, ensuring optimal inventory levels, cost efficiency, and supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will possess strong negotiation skills, a keen understanding of market trends, and the ability to drive strategic procurement decisions to support the company’s growth and profitability. Key Responsibilities Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing. Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best value. Monitor supplier performance and address any issues related to quality, delivery, or compliance. Procurement Planning: Forecast purchasing needs based on sales trends and demand planning. Develop and execute procurement strategies that align with company objectives. Maintain optimal inventory levels to avoid stockouts or overstocking. Market Analysis: Stay updated on market trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities. Analyse price fluctuations, supply chain risks, and alternative sourcing opportunities. Recommend strategies to mitigate supply chain disruptions and cost increases. Cost Optimization: Ensure procurement activities align with budgetary constraints. Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or service. Data Management and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and supplier agreements. Generate regular reports on procurement metrics, inventory turnover, and cost analyses. Utilise data to provide insights and support strategic decisions. Key Requirements Education and Experience: CIPS qualified would be ideal but not required Proven experience 3 years as a buyer or in procurement within the FMCG industry. Skills and Competencies: Strong negotiation and relationship management skills. Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Knowledge of supply chain operations and inventory management principles.
