Finance Officer

£30,371 - £32,488 / £16.64 - £17.80 per hour (including Distant Islands Allowance)
An opportunity has arisen as a Finance Officer situated within the Orkney Health and Care Finance Service.
Please note that applications for part time work will also be considered.
The post holder will support the Chief Finance Officer in performing the duties of the revenue accounting function.
The post holder will provide Council Services with high quality financial advice, ensuring the maintenance of sound financial and accounting practice and adherence to Council procedures. The post holder will liaise with staff across a range of disciplines both within the Council and external agencies, including external audit.
There is a requirement for excellent communication skills and the ability to produce written work to a high standard. This will include sound numerical and analytical skills and be familiar with computer based financial systems.
You will be able to demonstrate a proven track record of achievement, with the ability to work under pressure and deliver priorities within fixed timescales.
You should hold a qualification at SCQF level 5/6 (i.e., SVQ2, National 5, Standard Grades, O Grade, Intermediate 2, SVQ3, Higher, National Certificate, Foundation Apprenticeship) in a relevant subject, or have at least 2 years' previous relevant experience.
This post requires Basic Disclosure Scotland Clearance.
