We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to oversee the launch and management of cutting-edge facilities in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Design on a London campus. From day one, you’ll play a pivotal role in developing high-tech teaching environments, supporting innovative learning experiences for over 1,500 students in the first year of operation. What You’ll Do Oversee the launch and operations of three teaching laboratories and two makerspaces, ensuring they are fully functional, well-equipped, and regulatory compliant. Recruit, manage, and lead a team of technical staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture. Manage budgets, resource planning, and procurement of laboratory equipment, chemicals, and consumables. Establish and maintain health and safety standards, including waste and storage management. Collaborate with academic staff and a global network, with potential international travel opportunities. What We’re Looking For Experience managing multi-user facilities in a higher education setting, with a strong focus on health and safety. Proven leadership skills in coordinating technical teams and strategic projects. Expertise in budget management, resource planning, and laboratory operations. Exceptional communication, organisational, and IT skills. Desirable certifications: IST, IOSH, NEBOSH, or biological/chemical safety officer accreditation. Why Join Us?
