Are you a Deputy Headteacher committed to improving the lives of pupils and young people? We are looking for an experienced Deputy Headteacher to join our fantastic team at our New Options School - Penny Tree Schoolin Kings Norton, Birmingham. Our New Options School will provide support for pupils with a variety of complex needs including Autism.
Job Purpose
To provide a high-quality education service for our students in accordance with Company policies, procedures and practices and the standards set by the Regulatory Body. To work with the Head Teacher, leadership team and other stakeholders to secure high standards throughout the school.
Key Task Areas and Responsibilities
1. To comply with good safeguarding procedures and principles as detailed by the local safeguarding board
2. To participate in the process of assessment of referrals
3. To act as overall curriculum coordinator and manager across the school
4. To act as the lead teacher for the positive support of behaviour that may challenge
5. To work as a key member of the multi-disciplinary team which encompasses education, residential care and the clinical team
6. To monitor progress and targets to ensure that each individual student can achieve planned outcomes
Essential criteria
7. Relevant experience of teaching pupils and young people with Autistic spectrum condition and/or challenging behaviours
8. Relevant experience of teaching pupils and young people with complex needs
9. Experience of managing staff
10. Managing budgets effectively and ensuring cost efficiency
11. Degree and QTS
About us
Our New Options School – Penny Tree School will have capacity for 60 pupils and is due to open in April 2025. We're recruiting for a Deputy Headteacher to assist the Headteacher in setting up and growing our new school.
