Are you detail-oriented, organised, and committed to providing excellent service? Belfast City Council is seeking a full-time Senior Operations Business Assistant to manage and support waste collection services across the council's departments. In this critical role, you will support the Waste Collection, Transport, and Priority Waste teams by ensuring efficient service delivery for both domestic and commercial customers in Belfast.
Your Duties:
1. Communication Systems Management: Oversee and manage all communication systems within Waste Collection services, including radio and telephones. Ensure timely coordination and clear communication of instructions to staff.
2. Operational Support: Assist Waste Collection, Transport, and Priority Waste management teams in delivering an efficient service. Handle message recording, answer operational inquiries from staff, and liaise with the Cleansing Call Centre.
3. Administration and Reporting: Provide administrative support to all sections, including document management, filing, and minute-taking. Maintain up-to-date records on various systems, such as GPS, MIS, and route optimisation, and produce reports as needed.
4. Stock and Resource Management: Manage stock levels, issue fuel keys or cards, and monitor fuel usage across Cleansing Services to ensure effective resource allocation.
5. Scheduling and Route Optimisation: Help prepare daily schedules for Waste Collection and Transport, assist in route optimisation processes, and ensure timely service delivery to all stakeholders.
6. Staff Supervision and Training: Supervise day-to-day activities of administrative staff, participate in identifying training needs, and support staff development through the PDP process.
7. Complaint Resolution: Act as the point of contact for complaints, working to ensure satisfactory resolutions in line with Council procedures.
8. Change Implementation and Coordination: Assist in implementing change programmes and coordinating with other departments to enhance service delivery.
9. Customer and Stakeholder Relations: Work closely with other Council departments, external bodies, and the public to ensure seamless coordination and service provision.
Your Profile:
1. Technological Proficiency: Comfortable with using and updating management systems (GPS, MIS) to provide timely and accurate information.
2. Supervisory Experience: Proven experience in team management and resource allocation.
3. Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff, management, and the public effectively.
4. Problem-Solving Ability: Ability to handle complaints and resolve issues in a manner that upholds council standards.
Your Benefits:
1. £15.98 per hour.

Additional Information:
1. Full-time, Temporary.
