Ashford School is an independent, coeducational, day and boarding school for children from 0-18, founded in 1898. There are nearly 1000 students in the whole School, divided equally between the Senior School (11-18) and the Prep School and Nurseries (0-11). We expect the number of students in the Senior School to grow over the next ten years and are planning developments which will allow this to happen progressively. At full capacity there are 170 boarders in the Senior School, mostly from overseas, cared for by a number of resident teachers and support staff; 20 nationalities are represented. Working at Ashford School is an opportunity to be part of an inspiring, unique, vibrant, and inclusive community. We currently employ around 390 people who work together to maintain and develop our very friendly and outstanding School. Ashford is set in the middle of Kent, approximately 20 minutes journey from the Kent coasts: a stunning piece of coastline with something for everyone. We are in the ‘Garden of England’ with beautiful rolling countryside all around, including the Kent Downs, which is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. We provide full induction and support for all new staff and want to ensure your transition to us is as smooth as possible. We encourage our employees to further develop their skills and abilities. We support independent study courses as well as offering a vast array of professional development opportunities from being part of United Learning. Ashford School is part of United Learning, a large, and growing, group of schools aiming to offer a life-changing education to children and young people across England. United Learning is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All positions are subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring check from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) and shortlisted candidates will be subject to an online check. We always appoint on merit, and we are open to discussing flexible working options.
