Role Overview:
To support our continued growth, we have an exciting new opportunity for a Systems Engineer to join our expanding team. The candidate will be given responsibility to deliver a Front End Electronics sub-system project, or potentially a full camera space payload. There is the possibility that the Systems Engineer will work on multiple projects, depending on workload.
The Systems Engineer role is responsible for Design, Development and Verification of products throughout the project lifecycle, using their expertise and experience to tailor the project lifecycle and governance in response to the risks identified to deliver the Project.
The role requires a multidisciplinary engineer to oversee and review the various functional engineering teams inputs to the project. The Systems Engineer will be the main technical point of contact with the customer on the assigned project.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide clear technical leadership and direction to the project team.
2. Generate Engineering Management Plan.
3. Provide Engineering governance through the project life cycle.
4. Manage requirement set, maintaining the compliance verification matrix throughout.
5. Lead the project through major gate reviews.
6. Obtain and maintain the correct internal resources on the project through close contact with functional managers and project manager.
7. Sub-contract work package management with support of relevant in-house experts.
8. Manage the technical risk/opportunities on a project and their mitigation/capture activities.
9. Delivery of system bids (in conjunction with bid team) and writing technical proposals.
10. Configuration Control of the technical aspects of the product and project.
11. Compliance of Front-End Electronics and Payload Systems to ECSS standards
Essential Skills & Experience:
12. Working Systems Engineering knowledge with experience on complex systems projects
13. Broad knowledge across multiple engineering disciplines
14. Ability to manage customer expectations and avoid unwanted scope creep.
15. Good technical presentation and document writing skills

Desired Skills and Experience
16. Previous experience in the Space industry, preferably on Space Systems projects
17. Opto-Mechanical Design
18. Space Electronics
19. Experience with ECSS standards, especially with respect front-end electronics and payload systems
