Description
The job itself
We are seeking to appoint a passionate and highly effective Careers Advisor to start in September 2024, who will work within our team of staff providing for vulnerable young people.
This is a newly created position at the school and the successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the development, delivery, monitoring and evaluation of our careers offer to ensure it prepares and assists our students to assess their options and transition well into further education, training or employment.
The working hours are up to 22.5 hours per week (across three days) during term time. You will also be paid for an additional 22.5 hours per year, which enables you to attend team meetings and training and development outside of your normal working hours. This is a developmental role and the actual starting salary will be £15,826.13 per annum, rising upon completion of the level 6 apprenticeship standard.

What are we looking for?
We are looking for an individual who is committed to ensuring every student receives the careers guidance they need to assess their options and make the best decisions they can for their future to ensure that they thrive and be the best they can be. The successful applicant will have a Level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area and be willing to undertake the level 6 apprenticeship standard once in post, hold up to date knowledge of the National Careers Strategy and have demonstrable experience of implementing best practice in relation to careers and educational advice.
This role will involve working across both of our sites (Anlaby and Welton) and therefore a full driving licence or the ability to reliably travel between the two sites is essential.
