We are currently seeking a European Operations Coordinator to join our client, a UK Freight and Logistics company based in North Yorkshire.
The role of the European Operations Coordinator is to collaborate with the operations team to plan and optimize road freight routes across Europe, ensuring timely and cost-effective deliveries.
You will monitor shipments, identifying and addressing any issues that may arise during transit to minimize disruptions.
You will also manage relationships with carriers and suppliers, negotiating rates and contracts to achieve optimal service levels.
Main duties of the European Operations Coordinator :
Oversee the preparation of shipping and customs documentation, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
Ensure customers are provided with regular updates on shipment status and address any inquiries or concerns.
Liaise with clients, helping build strong relationships and maximise the potential of the client's business.
Deal with operational administration such as accurate data entry, job cards and sending confirmation to bookings to suppliers.
Raise all of the relevant operational documentation (this includes customs clearance formalities).
Correctly calculate freight quotations for both Import and Export shipments.
Send out invoices and complete job files.
To be a successful European Operations Coordinator, you need to have a minimum of 3 years' experience in European Road Freight.
You will also need to have a good understanding of post Brexit EU Customs Clearance requirements.
Knowledge & experience required:
Must come from a Freight Forwarding company
Strong communication and negotiation skills
Experience calculating freight quotations.
Good IT skills - predominantly MS packages
Previous experience building strong customer and supplier relationships
