The Senior Commercial Analyst will play a key role within the finance team, with a wide-ranging remit. Growth for our business is key, putting great importance on improving the commercial information available to the sales team, enabling their focus to deliver growth. The role requires strong stakeholder management as it will be the conduit between the data and the business leaders.
A day in the life:
* You'll keep an eye on daily commercial performance keeping relevant stakeholders updated
* Provide analysis to support decision making.
* You will be integral in building out the standard suite of Management Information to support the business’s growth ambition
* Aside from having your hand directly on the “today” picture, matching that to historical trends, you will be a key link between the Commercial and Finance Team to build dynamic and credible forecasts.
* Understand the historical performance of the consumer loan book, in conjunction with the Credit Analyst, to be able to predict future outcomes
* Build a merchant profitability model to measure ROA of merchants
* Work with the sales and finance teams, as well as third parties, to maximise sales and margins
* As can be expected, a typical day will include a steady flow of adhoc queries, either raised by the business, or by yourself.
About you:
* Proven experience as a commercial analyst - bonus points for Financial Services or Fintech experience
* Capable of building and managing effective working relationships with multiple stakeholders
* Excel, SQL and Power Query experience
* Excellent planning and organisational skills
* Ability to work to deadlines
* Strong communication and partnering ability
Please note that this role requires travel to our Newcastle-Under-Lyme Office twice per week.
