About the job: Where is your career headed? We have extensive experience in delivering environmental services across a range of developments. We have successfully supported our clients in delivering sustainable projects in sectors including our principal focus (offshore wind), and secondary sectors of water industry, dredging/tidal and marine aquaculture. This role will provide you with this opportunity whilst working within our broader marine geoscience consultancy team. Job Role: Due to continued growth in a variety of markets including offshore wind (especially in Round 4 and Scotwind) and the ports sector, we are looking to grow our team and are seeking Principal / Senior grade Environmental Consultants, with specific expertise in coastal geomorphology / marine physical processes. Our advice supports all phases of project delivery from site selection, consenting, engineering design and post-construction monitoring. An understanding of seabed conditions and processes, and risks presented by these to any infrastructure, is a fundamental part of every project. The successful applicant will have experience in coastal and marine processes assessments to support the delivery of marine projects, and ideally have experience of preparing marine physical processes aspects of Environmental Impact Assessments (including regulatory consultation), delivery of seabed stability/morphodynamics projects, projects involving coastal numerical modelling and associated client facing activities, The successful applicant will be expected to: Be a proactive technical authority in this area Lead the delivery of coastal geomorphology, marine physical processes and related projects for offshore wind, marine, aquaculture and port developments. Lead client and related liaison; and Have excellent written and verbal communication, organisational, and analytical skills. Demonstrate the ability to comprehend client requirements and needs thoroughly Key Responsibilities: Engaging proactively with clients to discuss project milestones and deliverables throughout the project’s duration, ensuring the seamless exchange of information and providing continuous support for client operations. Participating in client meetings across the UK, Europe, and globally, either in-person or virtually, to initiate projects and discuss progress and updates. Supplying technical support for tenders to both clients and internal proposal teams. Analysing project data and generating offshore reports for detailed investigation, employing GIS etc. and additional software tools for data analysis. Composing technical reports, including project bridging documents, technical notes, and final project certifications. Keeping project and database-related spreadsheets current for tracking and invoicing purposes. Guiding less experienced staff by imparting knowledge and offering counsel in familiar areas. Key Skills/Experience/Competencies: Subject matter expertise relating to coastal processes / coastal sediment transport Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Professional report writing skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Experience of mentoring junior staff members The ability to liaise with Clients on projects and deal effectively with complex issues GIS (ArcMap/ArcPro, QGIS) experience advantageous. Experience in the technique of numerical modelling for coastal sediment transport studies. Exceptional IT skills. The ability to work as a part of a team. Ability to work under pressure and complete tasks to tight deadlines. 2-5 years relevant experience in Geoscience. Excellent verbal and written English. Education/Qualifications: A University Degree or Masters in oceanography, marine geology, coastal engineering or equivalent Additional Requirements: Candidates should also be highly organised and motivated individuals with effective communication skills, a good work ethic, and a commitment to technical excellence, personal efficiency, and career progression through Continued Professional Development.
