Senior Employment Lawyer

The role:
As Senior Employment Lawyer you’ll act as the key legal business partner, supporting a wide range of matters with regards to employee relations across the Council and the wider community.
1. You will advise Officers, Councillors and maintained schools on all aspects of employment law
2. Draft and negotiate settlement agreements
3. Handle employment claims and draft legal responses
4. You will be regarded as the employment expert, and will be called upon for guidance on internal policies and procedures
5. When called upon, you’ll support TUPE arrangements and handle any issues as they arise.
About you:
To be successful in securing this position you will:
6. Be a qualified solicitor, barrister, or legal executive
7. Possess demonstrable experience of working within and providing advice regarding employment law
8. Be an excellent negotiator, with first rate communication skills at all levels of seniority

14. Remuneration: £49,498 - £50,512 per annum
