About The Role
The Pharmacy Area Manager will act as a conduit between store pharmacy and store management, providing specialist operational support and direction to ensure the delivery of safe, legal, and profitable pharmacies at Morrisons. This role heavily focuses on identifying opportunities to drive prescriptions, OTC, and services sales, as well as reducing operational costs. You'll also work with external bodies and organisations to understand industry trends and dynamics and how they impact and apply to Morrisons pharmacy business. This opportunity will cover 23 stores across the North Areas.
Some of your responsibilities will include:
* Ensure that Pharmacies are compliant with company, contractual, and professional requirements.
* Feed into changes to pharmacy processes following legislative changes.
* Please note, due to the regular travel, a car driver is required.
* Support pharmacies with peripheral stock ordering and management.
* Support the development and delivery of specific project work.
* Work with Clinical Commissioning Groups, Local Authorities, and GP surgeries in the area covered to increase services commissioning.
* Maintain and establish Clinical Governance and Information Governance leads in every Pharmacy.
* Oversee the implementation of refits, conversions, new openings, and divestments on time and to the specified standard.
* Report competitor contract changes or new applications, supporting contract applications & defenses with NHS Market Entry.
* Using data provided by central Finance & People teams, support Pharmacy and Store Managers in determining the right course of action for the pharmacy to take e.g. recruit vacancies, right hours in the right place.
* Undertake the role of an Authorised Witness for the destruction of Controlled Drugs.
* Identify improvement opportunities including products, processes, and dispensing efficiencies.
This position follows a field-based model with a 4-day working week.

* Registered pharmacist qualifications.
* Considerable experience managing a Pharmacy.

* Strong commercial acumen.
* General IT skills (Google, MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
* Full driving licence.
* Evidence of delivering customer-centric KPIs.
* Successful track record of developing colleagues and teams.
* Experience of delivering through a virtual team (indirect & direct management structure).
* Ability to deliver well under pressure.
