We are currently recruiting a Transport Manager for our site in Perth to effectively Manage the staff and functions of the Transport Department in a way that satisfies both Customer and Company, fulfils the Customer Commitment and achieves targets.
Key Tasks
1. To ensure that all commercial vehicles are maintained and serviced in accordance with FTA regulations, current legislation, and to the manufacturer’s recommendations
2. To ensure that the Route man’s message pad procedure is operated and maintained to customer service satisfaction levels
3. To actively encourage Route man to enter into the spirit of all campaigns to achieve added value service sales
4. To ensure each day’s items are loaded/unloaded from the vehicles and delivered and returned to customers according to the agreement
5. To ensure that the requirements of the Operator’s Licence are adhered to at all times
6. To plan routes cost effectively
7. To establish and maintain good customer relations and act as liaison between Customer and Company
8. To fully utilise the AS400 computer system, as appropriate
9. To recruit drivers in consultation with the General Manager
10. To provide on-going training for all drivers from start of service and throughout their employment and regularly review their training and development
11. To forward queries to the relevant department, and ensure managers, supervisors and colleagues are informed as necessary
12. To keep all costs to or below budget
13. To maintain accurate records where required
14. To wear and use Personal Protective Equipment and handling aids, where supplied, at all times for all relevant tasks.
15. To carry out all tasks to comply with Company Policy on Health & Safety and COSHH requirements
16. To comply with Company Policies and the Terms and Conditions of Employment and follow company procedures
17. To keep work area clean, tidy, safe and secure at all times
18. To attend training courses as required
19. To foster and maintain good working relations throughout the Company
20. To maintain confidentiality of Company business
21. Other Ad hoc duties as required
