Manpower Recruitment have teamed up with an established college in Oxford City Centre and are looking for an experienced Housekeeping Junior Supervisor. The role is full time and permanent with shifts working 5/7 days including some weekends in busier times. The role is paying £29224pa Overall Objective To be responsible for ensuring provision of the highest levels of cleanliness, hygiene, safety and that the housekeeping service is maintained throughout the year in college – some weekend work is required. To supervise, organise and motivate the Housekeeping Team and help with their training. Key Objectives To supervise staff ensuring standards of cleanliness, hygiene and tidiness in all bedrooms, corridors, meeting rooms, offices, and public areas throughout the College at all times Supervising the daily cleaning of all assigned areas to ensure they are cleaned to the highest standards. Ensure staff are aware of any failures in service and that shortcomings are rectified as soon as possible. Visit all cleaning staff daily, ensuring they are working as scheduled and following safe working practices. Ensure all staff adhere to the recycling programme ensuring that as much waste material as possible is recycled. Collate daily work sheets, documenting and reporting any failures in service and maintenance issues, before filing. Ensure teams have the materials to be able to perform their duties Supervise and control the use of equipment ensuring the correct and economical use of materials. Ensure correct usage of products in compliance with Health and Safety regulations. In absence of Deputy/Supervisor, organise the daily linen needs to ensure the Facilitators have the correct information for the bedding, towels and other related items in order the staff have the appropriate amounts to be able to complete work. Standards of service Attend any appropriate off and on the job training courses. Always wear clean uniform and name badge and enforce the uniform code with the cleaning staff. Implement and maintain good relations, including politely addressing Fellows, guests, students, and colleagues always. Induction, follow-up and remedial training of new and existing staff and conference teams In conjunction with Housekeeping Deputy Manager/Supervisor, carry out induction, follow-up and remedial training of conference casual teams including COSHH training, H&S procedures, infection control, use and maintenance of any equipment. Give immediate aid/tips on cleaning methods to staff members who are struggling to perform high standards within time scales. Organise the daily work to cover shortages amongst the teams In the event of sudden extreme shortages of staff, the supervisor will be expected to help with any cleaning as required. Check Kx for daily changes and maintain room status Check guest bedrooms to ensure they have been cleaned to the highest standard.
