About the Role
The Event Director is responsible for the strategic development and financial performance of the World Travel Market (WTM) brand and event, one of RX Global’s largest and most important events. The role has a high level of profile, both internally and externally within the global travel industry.
The successful candidate is responsible for identifying and evaluating strong and sustainable growth opportunities, using customer insights to develop new service/product solutions or brand extensions based upon customer needs.
Successful performance is defined as the ability to deliver positive business outcomes to customers (exhibitors and visitors) and drive strong revenue and profit growth for RX.
Responsibilities
1. Owning the vision, strategy, goals, decisions and policies of RXUK
2. Driving the brand and event revenue, strategic development and high-quality delivery
3. Being accountable for all activities related to your brand
4. Setting the shows budget and undertaking timely and accurate re-forecasts
5. Driving individual and team performance to create high performing show teams
6. Creating a show strategy which optimises all the levers of growth, includes robust sales and marketing plans and uses customer data
7. Owning and communicate the event vision and strategy, aligning and connecting the team (and wider matrix team) and their objectives to the event & the overall RX business vision & strategy
8. Creating superior customer solutions by identifying customer needs and problems that need to be solved and leveraging solutions to transform business needs
9. Working with operations to deliver the event in line with budget and strategy
10. Managing the tenancy agreement and acting as main liaison with the venue
Requirements
11. Demonstrate credibility in brand & product management
12. Have experience in building successful brands/events
13. Demonstrate a proven track record of customer focused leadership.
14. Demonstrate a track record of successfully building new business segments while growing existing portfolios.
15. Demonstrate high levels of planning at both an operational and strategic level
16. Have experience in establishing strategic alliances/business communities
17. Have experience in developing new lines of business and products. You will be skilled in reviewing, recommending and integrating new innovations.
18. Demonstrate passion for leading diverse teams of both direct and indirect reports demonstrating a strong authentic leadership style with an active focus on customer engagement
