Role Purpose
Join Flair as an Assistant Buyer, where you’ll be an integral part of our team, going above and beyond in every aspect of your role. You'll dive into product, sharpen your market knowledge, and contribute to new product development. You are critical in supporting the effective running of the category to deliver the commercial plan. You'll play a pivotal role in Flair’s success while advancing your career in a vibrant and supportive environment.
A Typical Day in This Role Includes:
* Responsible for supporting the effective day-to-day running of the department category.
* Contributing to department product development with an awareness of department best and worst and seasonal trends.
* Providing accurate reporting for weekly trade and on request.
* Contributing to weekly trade meetings with suggestions on how to react to department trading.
* Understanding and reacting to daily trading reports.
* Understanding the marketplace, target customer, and key competitors.
* Managing the critical path to ensure department KPI’s and strategy are achieved and deliveries are on time.
* Attending supplier meetings to develop and source new product development as well as reviewing the current range/pricing.
* Negotiating cost prices to achieve the best prices and meet margin targets.
* Ensuring all new lines are set up accurately and efficiently.
* Collating the final sign-off pack with the support of the Junior Buyer/Buyer.
* Managing the sample development tracker and chasing in development to meet deadlines.
* Providing exceptional service to customers, working to proactively resolve queries and escalating where necessary.

What You’ll Need:
* Confidence in Office 365 products, specifically Excel.
* Excellent organisational and time management skills.
* Experience working within fast paced commercial businesses would be ideal.
Salary: £25,000 - £26,500 per annum.
Contract: Full Time, Permanent.
Hybrid Working: While you’re finding your feet at Flair, you will spend most of your days in the office where we work the core hours of 09:30 – 15:30 Monday – Friday with flexible start/finish times according to your schedule and location needs.
