Responsibilities
1. Develop measurement processes for automated systems utilizing Test and Measurement Instruments for each assigned product to ensure complete and robust test coverage.
2. Review and provide input for product requirements, ensuring that they meet key criteria.
3. Work with colleagues to identify the resources needed to execute the calibration plan.
4. Provide schedule input for the project plan to the team.
5. Identify opportunities for process improvement and drive execution of ideas (continuous improvement mindset). Propose and establish new product development procedures and processes.
6. Coordinate actions with other functions to support the needs of the project.
7. Interface with Hardware and Software Engineers and the wider team to review system requirements and construct effective test strategies
8. Contribute to the entire hardware/software development life cycle from initial business requirements to deployment, production, and service support.
Your Team
The Norwich Test Development and Metrology Team is a small group of engineers with extensive test development, measurement process, and metrological skills who disseminate and support many of the metrological activities on site. We are embedded within the wider Norwich Engineering Team and work closely with colleagues both here and at other Fluke sites. The role is multifaceted, covering testing and calibration through the full product life cycle from Initial Product concept, development, manufacturing, service, and end-of-life support.
Experience
9. BSc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
10. Experience in the test and measurement field utilizing T&M instrumentation including calibration techniques.
11. Experience of formal processes required to support accreditation (ISO 17025).
12. Sound understanding of measurement uncertainty analysis.
13. Demonstrated a history of effective communication with geographically dispersed teams.
14. Proactive ‘self-starter’ attitude and the ability to work with ambiguity, utilizing sound judgment and decision-making skills.
15. Ability to work independently.
16. Ability to learn new concepts, processes, and practices.
