A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A EVENTS AND RESERVATIONS OFFICE MANAGER AT OUR HOTEL
What you'll be doing..
(Fixed Term: 12 Month Maternity Cover)
* Ensure the smooth running of the Sales & Reservations department on a day-to-day basis, liaising between clients and all departments.
* Provide mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to improve and manage team performance.
* To support the Director of Sales with show rounds, proposals, and upselling.
* Assess and respond to client inquiries in a prompt and professional manner.
* Provide courteous and efficient service in bookings for rooms and food & beverage outlets and secure business at all times.
* Provide fast, professional and friendly service to guests and customers by handling reservations, group bookings and contracts.
* Create reservations and input via both telephone and email according to room and rate availability, ensuring that full and accurate details are obtained.
* Deal with travel agent bookings, vouchers and credit requests, ensuring that the hotel's policy is adhered to at all times.
* Accurate and timely responses to guests, clients and agents in line with our brand standards.
* Update reservations, to input and record cancellations and amendments, making sure all bookings are accurate.
* To assist colleagues and other members of staff to create teamwork and quality service through communication.
* To adopt a 'can do' attitude towards all aspects of customer service through a proactive and flexible approach to meeting customer needs.
* The successful applicant for this role will deliver excellent customer service, have a positive 'can do' attitude, be willing to learn and show that they care.
What We Need from You:
* Minimum of 3 years' experience in Sales and Reservations within the hospitality or events sector, with a proven record of achieving sales targets and managing client relationships effectively
* Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop a sales team to meet ambitious goals
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal, with a professional and persuasive approach
* In-depth understanding of sales principles and strategies, with experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and performance analysis
* Proficiency in OPERA PMS and Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to generate and analyse sales data
* Strong negotiation and contract management skills, with a keen eye for detail to ensure mutually beneficial agreements
* Highly organised, able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
* Flexibility to work outside of regular hours, including evenings and weekends, and attend off-site meetings or events as required
* A positive, proactive approach with the ability to identify and act on new opportunities in line with hotel objectives
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
