Job summary
We are looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our Colposcopy team. Working together with the operational team and colposcopists the postholder will play a vital role in coordinating the colposcopy service in east Kent as part of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme to provide the best possible experience and outcomes for women.
This role is an exciting starting point within a busy operational team with a potential for onward career progression for the right candidate.
We require someone with a high standard of organisational skills in order to provide an efficient administrative service to the team. This role will keep you both busy and challenged. You must be highly motivated with excellent communication skills, the ability to use your own initiative and work well under pressure.
You will need to be adaptable, reliable and a team player with good qualifications and/or management experience.
Knowledge of working in a hospital environment is desirable as is knowledge of the hospital systems and an understanding of RTT pathways.
Main duties of the job
1. Ensure patients are proactively managed and the progress of referrals is tracked to ensure each stage of the pathway is completed.
2. Oversee the booking of appointments and recording of outcomes for all new and follow up appointments.
3. Ensure efficiency of clinic utilisation and monitor capacity requirements within the service.
4. Coordinate and attend monthly Colposcopy MDM; prepare the agenda, produce and distribute the minutes and ensure all outcomes are actioned within a timely manner.
5. Support the Lead Colposcopist with the organising of the quarterly Colposcopy Operational Meetings; creating and circulating agendas and taking minutes.
6. Run and validate the monthly discharge lists for Cervical Screening Administration Service (CSAS).
7. Ensure all failsafe processes managed by the Colposcopy Administration Team are undertaken at appropriate intervals.
