Introduction
Our client, a leading company in the water industry, is currently seeking a Site Agent to join their team. As a Site Agent, you will play a key role in the successful delivery of the clients water / tunnelling project, specifically in the areas of pipe jacking and shaft sinking. This is a contract position with an anticipated start date in mid-May, and a minimum duration of 7 months. This role is on a freelance basis and paying rates upwards of £350 p/day CIS.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of the site, ensuring all work is carried out safely and in compliance with health and safety standards.
2. Coordinate and supervise the activities of subcontractors, maintaining effective communication to ensure project objectives are met.
3. Monitor progress against project plans, identifying any potential issues or delays, and implementing corrective actions when necessary.
4. Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation, ensuring compliance with design requirements.
5. Manage the quality control process, conducting regular inspections and audits to ensure workmanship and materials meet the required standards.
6. Prepare daily/weekly reports, documenting site activities, progress, and any incidents or significant events.
7. Collaborate with the project management team to manage resources effectively, including labor, equipment, and materials.
8. Maintain regular communication with key stakeholders, including the client, project managers, and other relevant parties.
Job Requirements
9. Significant experience in a similar role within the water industry, with a focus on pipe jack and shaft sinking projects.
10. Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations, with the ability to manage and enforce site safety protocols.
11. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly convey information to various stakeholders.
12. Proven leadership abilities, with the capability to effectively manage a team and maintain a positive work environment.
13. Experience in interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and other project documentation.
14. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues that may arise on-site.
15. Flexible and adaptable approach, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
16. Valid CSCS card and relevant qualifications in a related field would be advantageous.
