Robert Half are working with a leading functional medical technology business based in Edinburgh to help recruit an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Financial Controller, our client is looking for someone with a proven track record in finance who is methodical, highly organised, results driven and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Role Responsibilities
1. Manage internal financial accounting, monitoring and reporting systems. Inputting of invoices payable, invoices receivable and expenses on Xero.
2. Monitor day-to-day finances including the reconciliation of financial transactions against bank statements and daily communications on financial queries from clients
3. Issue client invoices based on agreed terms and cross checking invoices against orders.
4. Record and reconcile commissions and affiliate payments.
5. Create payment schedules of vendors, suppliers, commissions and service providers
6. Monitor accounts receivable, produce weekly reports and perform credit control activities.
7. Assist accountant in information gathering for annual accounts.
8. Produce management reports on sales, invoices and credit control.
9. Arrange company events and travel as required, ensuring budgets are accounted for.
10. Assist across departmental functions as required during staff absences.
Requirements
11. A proven track record in financial administration/bookkeeping
12. Excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel/GoogleSheets and able to produce reports
13. Thorough attention to detail and excellent organisational skills
14. Solid time management skills with the ability to prioritise.
15. Excellent communication and problem solving skills
16. A rational thinker under pressure.
The salary range/rates of pay is dependent upon your experience, qualifications or training.
