In this key leadership role, you will manage the administration of the University’s USS pension scheme, supporting over £120m in annual contributions. You’ll ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, deliver high-quality service to members, and implement strategic improvements to processes and systems. About the Role Managing a specialist team to provide expert guidance on USS scheme rules and pension legislation. Leading the delivery of efficient, accurate pension services, including handling complex cases such as ill-health or retirement. Representing the University in external advisory panels and collaborating with senior stakeholders. Providing technical advice on pension and taxation complexities to senior staff. About You Professional pensions qualification (e.g., PMI) or equivalent experience. Expertise in pension administration and HMRC regulations. Ability to manage legislative changes affecting pension schemes. Strong customer service focus and communication skills. Proven experience in leading, motivating, and developing a team. Skilled in managing complex workloads with effective prioritisation. Desirable: Experience in higher education or similar organisations. Knowledge of USS scheme rules and procedures.
