Finance Business Partner �(King�s and Lord Treasurer�s Remembrancer)
About the Role:
This role is a full time, permanent appointment.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the King�s and Lord Treasurer�s Remembrancer department as a Finance Business Partner. This is a specialised service which focuses on dealing with ownerless property in Scotland. You will work closely with the newly appointed Chief Finance Officer, tracking KLTR�s cash flow, providing budget management, financial reporting as well as analysing our operational trends and patterns.
This is an excellent opportunity to expand your existing financial knowledge and analytical skills to learn the role finance has within the Civil Service.
This is a hybrid working role, with the home office being in Victoria Quay, Edinburgh, where office attendance is required twice a week. The team have a core office day on Wednesday which encourages team collaboration. There will also be an expectancy that you may occasionally need to travel. ��
Job description
The KLTR has undergone significant transformation over the last few years and we have just published our which will take us through a further busy period of reform and modernisation. This will be supported by a new financial strategy which we will develop in the early new financial year.
As our Finance Business Partner, you will be tracking KLTR�s cash flow, providing budget management, financial reporting, monthly management as well as analysing our operational trends and patterns.
You will play a key role in producing the KLTR Annual Report and Accounts.
You will play a vital part in assisting the KTLR Chief Finance Officer in their duties as well as deputising for them as needed.
This is an exciting role suitable for someone who pays attention to detail, has strong analytical skills and experience of working in a Finance Team.
General Responsibilities
1. Support the preparation of key management information including the KLTR annual budget and budgeting exercises.
2. Production of KLTR�s monthly and annual accounts ensuring accuracy and providing insight to financial reports.
3. Proactively identify efficiencies in systems and processes, ensuring financial controls are adequate and continually improving to deliver value for money.
4. Provision of financial guidance, support and training to the KLTR team.
Role Specific Activities and Duties
5. Provide cover for banking authorisations including finance systems.
6. Ensuring sufficient funds are available to cover payments and cash forecasts.
7. Prepare the KLTR Annual Report and Accounts liaising with External Audit.
8. Assist with the completion of business cases.
9. Create, financial papers to the KLTR Advisory Board; KLTR Senior Executive Team and Audit Committee.
10. Provide analysis of future business patterns and trends to allow informed business decisions to be made.
11. Provide frequent updates to Senior Leaders on financial forecasts and business trends.
12. Develop a cost recovery model.
13. Ensure timeframes are met for all payments carried out by the payments team.

Person specification
The competencies listed in the Application Pack form the key essential criteria for this role.� Candidates will also be expected to demonstrate:
14. Possession of a professional accounting qualification (full membership of a CCAB body or CIMA) or working towards with relevant financial experience.
15. Strong financial knowledge and analytical skills gained within a financial environment, with experience in reviewing financial performance, challenging assumptions and understanding budget principles.
16. Experience of making decisions, evaluating potential risks and solutions.
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
18. Strong data analysis skills, using a variety of sources, tools and techniques to analyse and interpret management information and statistical information to provide clear and concise financial analysis.
19. Working knowledge of financial systems & Microsoft Office suite including Microsoft Excel Power BI or similar.
